2. So is my Money Dashboard Classic account shareable?
Scenario
We understand that there may be instances of wanting the option to share your Money Dashboard Classic account with your partner/family to gain an overview of all your finances.
So is my Money Dashboard Classic account shareable?
Money Dashboard Classic is a Personal Finance Assistant so you can have all your personal accounts in one place. It is generally intended for sole use, but we do understand that some of our users like to see an overview of all household finances, and would like to set up an account to be used by multiple people - partners, other family members, housemates, etc.
It is currently only possible to create a Money Dashboard account with one email address and password, so if you do wish to use the account with someone else you would be sharing the same login details for it.
What's the solution?
Money Dashboard Classic can support multiple bank accounts belonging to different individuals, but this is to be done at the users' discretion, and there are some privacy issues you should consider first.
We advise that you do not share your bank login credentials with anyone, even your partner, and you may find you are not able to add/refresh all accounts easily or regularly if the other user is present at the time.
Please also note that if you do share a Money Dashboard Classic account with another person then both of you will be able to see each others personal accounts as well as any Joint accounts you may have together.
How about having 2 different Money Dashboard Classic accounts and connecting the same bank accounts on separate Money Dashboard Classic accounts?
If you are trying to connect the account more than once on Money Dashboard Classic (for example, you have multiple Money Dashboard Classic accounts/your partner also has access to your American Express account), this is currently not supported and hence, causing the failure.
