11th November 2019 - Re-authentication when switching to Open Banking
When prompted by HSBC to input your security code generated by either your Physical Secure Key Device or Digital Security Key App, if you are using the Digital Security Key App, select 'Re-authenticate' instead of 'Log on', followed by 'Generate Code'
Update of login process to Secure Key
HSBC have moved all of their users over to a Secure Key only login (Strong Customer Authentication - SCA).
For now we're afraid you will only be able to connect your HSBC accounts to Money Dashboard on the non-Open Banking login flow using the Secure Key login.
Unfortunately this also means that it will no longer be possible for existing accounts to automatically refresh, and you will need to generate a new Secure Key code every time you need to refresh the accounts.
We appreciate that this change will become time-consuming and inconvenient. To mitigate this we will shortly be integrating connections to HSBC using the new Open Banking APIs once HSBC brings out their full APIs for Open Banking.
