This article provides detailed information for switching existing connected Barclays accounts to Open Banking on the web application (Desktop) and mobile application (iOS/Android).
We would highly recommend you switch to Open Banking for existing connected accounts if they are applicable to do so. You can read more about why it is useful here.
We are gradually offering users the option to switch in a controlled phased roll-out to ensure there are no issues. If you are not yet seeing the ‘Switch to Open Banking’ button for your connected accounts, please bear with us as we work to bring this to all our Barclays connected users.

Known issue when trying to switch my Barclays accounts to Open Banking
Why is this happening?
If you are experiencing problems when migrating your Barclays accounts to the new Open Bank API connection, this is due to Barclays requiring the connection to be done via the PINSentry login method.
However, we are finding that if users have set their default login option at the main Barclays site to always connect with the Passcode/Memorable Word login, then when trying to connect via Open Banking, the Barclays site is defaulting to the Memorable Word/Passcode flow and returning an error instead.
How do I fix it?
To correct this issue, please go to the main Barclays site and amend the default login method to PINSentry before trying to migrate to Open Banking again on Money Dashboard Classic. Please get in touch if you are still unable to connect after trying this.
Types of Barclays accounts supported for switching to Open Banking
Currently, you will see a “Switch to Open Banking” button for all your connected accounts, however, at this time only Barclays current accounts and some cash savings accounts can be migrated to Open Banking API connection. ISAs and certain other types of savings accounts cannot.
