With the exception of Monzo and Starling (they have produced dedicated APIs that allow us to connect to their mobile apps) it is not possible for our data provider, Yodlee to connect to users' bank accounts using the banks' dedicated mobile app logins.
Why is this the case?
This is because the mobile app is often tied to a specific device. As a result, Yodlee is unable to access the data. Additionally, the data on banks' mobile apps if often truncated or incomplete. Therefore the only way to connect bank accounts to Money Dashboard that is not device specific and has the maximum available data is by using the banks' full web-based online banking logins, not the mobile app logins.
