What is a Roll Over?
Lets say that you have a budget set up for £100. You overspent a little bit and spent £110. The rollover amount in this example would be £10. Now we don't take this into account into your next budget. That is to say, we dont reduce the budget of the next month by your rollover amount.
What is Double Counting
Double counting is where you have the same transaction being included in multiple budgets. This can happen in 2 ways: direct and indirect:
- Direct double counting is where you have the same tag in 2 different budgets
- Indirect double counting is where you have a Tag in one budget that is a subset of another tag. An example of this would be having the level 1 tag Appearance in a budget and and the Level 2 Tag Toiletries in another. This would result in toiletries being counted twice (as toiletries is a branch out of appearance).
