At times there might be transactions coming through with similar descriptions, however, you may wish to assign different tags to categorise them separately. A likely scenario would be when you share your Money Dashboard account with your partner/another person. For example, both your state pension transactions gets pulled through and have a very similar description. In this case, the 'Tag Similar Transaction' feature , if applied, will not pick up on the different account holder and will apply the same tag to both you and your partner's state pension transaction.
Based on the above example, you can:
1. Select all your State Pension and edit the description across all of them, for example, 'Your Name State Pension'. How to edit/change the description of a/multiple transactions?
2. Subsequently, assign the 'Your Name State Pension' tag to these transactions.
3. Do the same for your partner's State Pension transactions but of course, with different descriptions and tags.
This scenario is using state pensions as an example and it'll be possible to apply to different types of transactions.
We appreciate this isn't the most convenient form of getting around it and we are always trying to improve the product as more use cases and feedback from our users are presented. Our team is aware of more instances of joint usage of a single Money Dashboard account and future product improvements take this into consideration.
