What do I need to do?
All accounts currently held with these providers will need to be switched to the new connections by March 14th if it's not yet connected via the Open banking connection. Simply follow the prompts in app to update your account connections. A guide is detailed here for steps during the switch process.
What about Savings Accounts?
Savings Accounts aren't guaranteed to be supported by Open Banking, though support is up to your banking provider. Open Banking was created to support Payment Accounts, including Current accounts and Credit Card account. The option to support additional account types depends on your banks willingness to support additional account types.
What about accounts not on this list?
For accounts which aren’t supported, we recommend that you leave them linked to Money Dashboard Classic account to retain your historic spend data and we’ll let you know via email when new account connections are made available by your bank. You will then be able to add them as new, or connect up the records with your old account. Open Banking connections can offer up to 3 years worth of history so we will be able to back fill your transactions when your bank makes them available.
In the meantime you can also keep track of other accounts which are currently unsupported using our “offline account” feature
At Money Dashboard we’ve always been the place to see all your accounts in one place. We are continuing to add new connections as the banks make them available.
Why can’t I see some of my accounts?
Only certain types of accounts are currently provided by the Banks via Open Banking. These are accounts covered by “PSD2” (legislation relating to payments accounts) which are basically any accounts that you can make payments from.
If you can make transactions from your savings account to another account not owned by you then it will be available to switch to open banking. What this means in practice is that a large number of savings accounts will not appear as an option to connect via Open Banking because you can only transfer money from them to another account you hold with the same bank.
Unfortunately we can't tell beforehand which of your accounts your bank will support a connection for so we provide prompt options for all accounts (including savings) in case they are supported.
What this means for your savings/credit card accounts connected to Money Dashboard Classic that aren’t on Open Banking
We recommend you leave all your accounts connected. We will continue to provide updates where possible and when new account connections are made available you will be able to link your historic account data with the new one.
