Why is this happening?
We have identified an issue with the way certain providers are handling the identifier of an account. As such, instead of successfully re-authenticating an account and recognising this is the same account that is already connected, a new duplicate is being brought in. The current known providers with this issue are:
1. Tesco Bank
2. Sainsbury Bank
3. Virgin Money
What is Money Dashboard doing about it?
We are in conversation with the FCA and relevant providers on this. The team has also attempted a workaround to create a separate matching system for re-authentication so that duplicates are not brought in.
What can I do?
If you are seeing a duplicated account being brought in on re-authentication, please do not remove any transactions and contact support here for us to check through the accounts to see whether the matching system above would work for your accounts.
